According to the data announced by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Turkey increased its export volume by 32.9 per cent to USD 225 billion 367 million 676 thousand last year. Aerospace and defense industry, on the other hand, surpassed the average figures for Turkey by increasing its exports by 41.5 per cent. Having made exports amounting to USD 2 billion 278 million 695 thousand in 2020, aerospace and defense industry increased the value of its exports to USD 3 billion 224 million 786 thousand in 2021.

It is an indisputable fact that such technologies are subsequently put to use for civil purposes and therefore make significant contributions to socio-economic development of societies, albeit indirectly.
